I have never used VirtualBox myself, but I have seen it in action and from that I saw, it's pretty memory hungry. Other than that, if your hardware is what I can see from your signature, you should be fine using it, but if you could upgrade to 2 GB of RAM, this will boost up the performance.

I was unable to find any performance charts, so I guess you'll find it when you test it out.
