Well, I have this kickass idea for an opening for the FPS Page at TG, and it's gonna be a movie, if I can pull it off...Anyone know how to make a movie of counter-strike or any game?

Well how else would you want to make a movie as an opening? AVI format? Quicktime? You wanna bamboozle visitors with a 2MB-5MB movie in the splash page? How can it not be Flash? http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/biggrin.gif

Moving this thread to Web Designers Corner...

Well, see first I get the movie in .avi format, then I import it into flash and then it will be condensed quite a bit. So first I need the .avi movie or else how am I gonna put anything into flash?

You had better have a big box of cookies so when people enter the page- they have some thing to eat while they wait for the Load.

..hehe

A short movie maybe? Right? Like SK said, long load time... I know I have buzzed off to somewhere else when pics/movies took too long to load or flat out froze the whole thing on me. Please don't shoot me. I'm just sitting here in a snowbank with nothing else to do but comment...

SK! Tempy! Glad to see you guys here http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif

Anyway, tt would save a GREAT deal of time to just start the movie directly on Flash, and forget about AVI clips. I mean, what else would you need on AVI clips but game footage (unless that was what you wanted).

Flash movies created from AVI clips are significantly larger and slower to load than regular Flash layers that were created from scratch. And basically, all you need are good screenshots and good voiceovers (not to mention good background music), and you got yourself a great Flash movie.

If you really want to make a movie, you should at least create storyboards for it and determine how the "movie" progresses, how it ends, and how it integrates into the main interface of the site. Do some legwork man!

Well...The way I want it to be made it cannot be made into flash, because the guy will actually be moving and I want it to look good, not how flash looks http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif hehe, plus it's hard to do perfect animation in flash, which is what I could do with an .avi movie...Plus, the way I am thinking, the movie will only be about 15 seconds or so.

Oh, and I already know exactly how the movie will go http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/smile.gif

aaaactualyy MK i'm just learning flash and it's quite easy to make animations that look awesome- I would suggest getting an avi editor to start with. Find a good one from somewhere, then get an avi screen capture utility, or grab your movie from somewhere. Then drop your fps right down to about 10 or 8. then import it into flash and keep it short... if you can drop the colours down to 256 then so much the better. However, i think you could get a much better effect with a few screenshots and some good sfx.

I wish..But, I don't know if I could do that since the movie requires two people (multiplayer) AND i don't know how to drop my fps...Avi Screen Capture Util...Hmm...thanks http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/biggrin.gif I'll work on it, thanks for the ideas all.

Hmm...I'm trying this program, but it won't record sound and it's REALLY choppy...like let's say I am playing counter-strike and I tell it to record..let's say I move 100 feet...well, it will go 10ft.-20ft.-30ft., etc... instead of 1ft.-2ft.-3ft., etc. Any ideas?
