When you play a computer game, do you exhibit any reactions? Like, do you swear, cry or throw things when someone frags you? Do you talk to the monitor if it was a real person who has done you wrong? Do you groan, moan or gasp when something bad (or good) happens in the game? Or are you one of those stiffs who play games like it was an interactive funeral?

I use to go crazy, I would bang the desk and hit the monitor. But then I learned that it is just a game so I do not get upset anymore.

Now my brother on the other hand has to be the funniest person to watch play CS. When he dies he will freak out. He smacks the monitor, and throws the mouse and keyboard. We have already gone through 2 mice and 1 keyboard because of that :D

By my post don't get the impression that I'm a bad poor sport, I actually have to be in a bad mood to get worked up about a game.

The only game I've found myself get really pissed off at was Warcraft III, because I wanted to do good and I always ran into bad luck, or at least that was my opinion.

I don't normally talk outloud when I'm by myself, but when I'm at the computer it's different. In deathmatch-type games, I hardly flinch when I die, since I do it so much.. but when it comes to single player games with hella difficult missions that take forever to complete, that's when I get angry.

I used to get really mad and talk S**t to the monitor or the TV. That is until I started playing HC Diablo. In all the other games you press start or hit space bar and “Oh no I have to replay the level.” Yet when I lost my First good HC character, I just sat there and stared at this Druid who had the typed:

It depends on what mood I'm in.

If I'm in a bad mood I'll stare at the comp, but usually I cover my forehead with my left hand and glance away.

In a good mood I'm so optimistic that I don't even care if I die. In Diablo II my chars die all the time so it doesn't even bother me anymore. Besides, it starts the new challenge of getting my body back.

At LAN games I laugh loudly and hunt down my killer. I'm usually better than those I'm playing against so its not hard, especially with low pings :)

Normally I'm having too good of a time to care, unless it was a cheese kill and then I kinda get pissed and hunt that person down for a few kills instead of revenge.

When I used to play CS I really didn't care, I was so used to dying that it just didn't matter to me. Plus, when we were playing way back (We're talking when LJ and Cardman were still playing on CS TG server, folks) the fun we had just chatting durning rounds was awesome. That to me, is what gaming is about.

Great thread! As you might guess from my Avatar I rather like CS and I can't stand it when I die and loose the very gun I just saved for by using only a 5-7 for the last four rounds! You can imagine the verbal abuse that my poor monitor has to go through on a day to day basis. Perhaps they should start a support group?

When i lose in a game i look at my cheats database, and if it is not listed i then use the update in the database then look to see if it is listed, if it still is not listed, i then just get another game out, and i look on the internet for any cheats. i go to this website for cheats

If i can't find any i just put the game to one side and play another game

Maybe it's just cuz I mainly play Starcraft but if someone beats me I just say GG because well it was a good game if they beat me and I become better for it. But if I have some notion of hack then I will save the replay and show as many people as possible to get them to believe me. If it was lag, then the people on Starcraft B.net are usually reasonable enough to agree that there was lag. But not so on CS, alot of people just call you n00b if you die from ' Lag ' on CS.

I have never in my life banged my mouse or any other hardware [ Maybe the way I was raised ] Idk, I could never imagine banging my hardware because I lost one game. Think of how much money it is.

I also have seen only one or two people do that, so I was amazed to see how many people here hit their mouse/monitor.

If I'm playing a single player game and I lose consistantly I just say ' OMFG ' and ' WTF ' over and over and over. Yeah, I'd type out exactly what I say after OMFG and WTF but it's rather violent so I'll just leave it at that.

It's rare that I'll cheat on a single player game, like if it's this one level I've been playing for over a hour and a half I just say ' **** it ' or ' **** this game ' or ' **** this shit ' and/or go look for cheats.

This is mainly because i play diablo and Unreal Tournament. anytime i die in D2 i alsways swear at the monster that killed me. it gets even worse in Unreal bcos i may feel that i should have rightly killed the bot b4 it killed me. Actually, I've become pretty placid about losing now. I think it's cause i quick save like every minute. I used to freak out when i lost because i was lasy and never saved, but i wised up. Plus i've become a better gamer and can beat entire games without dying, which is nice

Sometimes, when I have the game on HARD mode & I get whooped, I'll stare at the screen at my digital enemy, not open-mouthed, but comtemplative.

Other times, I'll talk, especially when I'm alone, to the monitor. Tossing insults at my monitor while I'm playing online games like Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries, (online & against the computer) tends to relieve the pressure of knowing, at any time, someone could get off a lucky shot & takes you down. Yeah, that's right! I taunt my computer into coming after me (it's all the more satisfying when i crush my digital opposition :cool: )

When i lose or die in a PC game , what happens is realy according to my mood and the game i'm playing ..
sometimes i loose because of my mouse not working well... so i start banging it !!!
if i'm playing a level that i'v been stuck on it for sometime , and i loose just before finishing it , i realy get mad and start swearing at the monitor ..

but usualy i'm a calm person , and i dont throw stuff or hit anything .. it's just a game , and i'll just start over and keep trying !!

When i lose in a game, it really depends on what my opponent does that makes me do different things.

1. If i KNOW they're cheating (which is 90% of the time) i.e pressing the same button over and over again/keep on pressing the rapid attack so when there is a slight pause in an attack pattern they hit you, making them BOTH unfair tactic, i sometimes swear my head off, because:

1. They are n00bs
2. They are cheating
3. They will never get experienced by doing so.
4. They are being assholes.


But when they don't cheat, i just decide to practice until i get better than them.
