well, ive ordered from them a couple times now, and have had a very pleasant experience. received order confirmation promptly, order was processed within a business day and shipped promptly. one order was even delivered a day early :D
nothing unusual, right? WRONG. i order a lot of stuff online, but computer related sites seem to work differently. they take forever to process, they dont ship on time, they screw up something (once even my entire bank account :p).
anyone else had good/bad experiences with googlegear? i might just end up buying from them regularly if their price is anywhere near competitive.

Their prices are very competitive.
I bought from them before and quite enjoyed the experience.
Recently, I decided to order some new stuff. They've changed some of their policies and ordering. I didn't have a nice experience. And they won't take your order over the phone.
So, I'm not doing business with them at the present time. I tried twice recently and it just didn't work as well as others.
I think it got bad when they started making you register and logon to the site. Why do sites start hassling you more? I mean, after all, you are giving them your credit card when it comes time to order.

most online merchants make you register now. i dont see anything unusual there, although its annoying. but it does make it more convenient to order again.
but what was bad about your experience? i am curious. i like to find dependable merchants.

The only thing I am sure about, is that my order didn't go through because of some problem with my credit card. I knew there wasn't any problem with the card. So, I just waited and received email after automated email stating there was a problem with the card. I waited a few days until it timed out and the order was cancelled. I wasn't about to do anything to try to correct with my order. There wasn't anything wrong. Last time I did something like that with an automated site, I got seven duplicate orders created.
Then I ordered from another site with the same card, no problems. Received it promptly. And they didn't require registration. It cost me about 5% more in prices.
What ticked me off was that I called them first to place my order because I was uncomfortable with the ordering system. They wouldn't let me order over the phone and said they'd only take orders online.
So, I had to wait a week longer to get my stuff from somebody else.
It isn't that bad. But, I'd rather feel comfortable for a few extra dollars.
For instance, Kingston has one of the best online ordering sites and service I've ever seen. It was too bad their hardware was inferior and I had to return it. But, they credited my card promptly.
