Can someone please help me, ive been hacked! Here is how it happend, what happend, and when it happend. i was in Diablo 2 east realm looking to join a game, I saw a game titled "Free Occy Maker"! I am realitivly new to the D2 game and thought OK that sounds good. I entered the game and a character named "AGENT_FOXMULDER" approached me and went into trade mode. I showed my items and he showed his. His were better. He asked me if I wanted an occy maker. I asked him "what is an occy maker". He told me it was an soj maker. I thought nice, sure ill take one. He said what is your e-mail address. I thought that was weird and I asked him if he was gonna hack into my stuff or something, to which he replied "do you think i need your stuff, youve seen mine". All his equipment had his name on it so i figured ok i guess not. He sent me an email and it had an attachment, He told me to download the attachment and he would explain how to use it. Thats when all hell broke loose! As soon as i clicked on the downloaded atchment named occyring1.exe, my pc started going crazy! All my files started opening and my cursor started going back and fort at the top. At this point I had no control over my pc. The screen went back to the game i was in, my inventory opened up and all my equipment started being thrown on the ground, keep in mind this is all happening at light speed. Then my character exited the game and my cursor was still going crazy, and my moniter was going back and forth from opening my desktop and all my files,to D2. By this time I am trying frantically to turn my pc off, to no avail. I finally managed to get behind my desk and turn off the power converter. I imadiatly went back to the same game as soon as i got back online! HE WAS STILL THERE TRYING TO HACK OTHER PLAYERS! As soon as he recgnized my character , or acct name he dissapeard. I realize I was stupid to even go along with this ploy, and I went against all my gut instincts, but this type of behavior is un-acceptable! This all happend about 45 minuts ago and someone in opentechsupport channel 32 refered me to y'all.

My questins are these.

1. What did he do to my pc?
2. Is it permanent?
3. Can he always access my acct now?
4. What can I do to fix it?
5. Is there a way to exact legal revenge?
6. Should I chang all my passwords?
7. Should I delete my account and start all over again?

Pleas refrain from telling me how stupid I am for letting it all happen in the first place! I already realize this!

Thanks for all your help and please give me sound advice.

1. What did he do to my pc? You opened an attachment with a trojan
2. Is it permanent? The damage has already been done.
3. Can he always access my acct now?Not unless you change your passwords
4. What can I do to fix it?Fix what? You already lost yer stuff. The damage has been done. All you got left is cleanup and future prevention.
5. Is there a way to exact legal revenge? You can report his username and what you told us to support@blizzard.com and/or hacks@blizzard.com, and hope they disable his account. But don't hold your breath/
6. Should I change all my passwords?Definitely.
7. Should I delete my account and start all over again? You said you only lost your stuff. Unless your stats also got changed, no need to delete the account - just try to play again and regain some of the stuff you lost. And again, change all your passwords.

Nothing else you can do here but suck it up and continue playing. You can try contacting Blizzard through the emails I gave you, or you can go here (http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=adt0301p) and see Blizzard's official stance on lost items.

I would also suggest that you do a complete anti-virus scan of your computer.

Prevention is always the best solution.

BTW, there's only one Open Tech Support channel on USEast. The 32 means how many people that were there at the time. :D

Yeah its important to commemorate the lost data of Battle.Net denizens who got scammed out of their stuff a month ago.

That being said, let's take a closer look at the lower left-hand side of each post. There you will find a time-date stamp denoting the time and date of the original post. Use it, love it, believe it. Okaythanksb'bye.
