New machine can't log in

Ok, I recently got a new machine:

windows xp
1.5 gHZ
512 Ram
128 GeForce
60G Disk

and I am unable to log into my existing account. I have disabled the xp firewall and am able to connect to battlenet. But when i try to log in it just brings up the "please wait.." dialog and sits forever. Whats going on?

btw, I can log in fine from the old box.

Before you try to log on again, go to the battle.net site and download the 1.09D patch (http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mdt0387p). Then try logging on to battle.net and see if it works.

heh yeah that would help... It did that to me. Same thing happened. Download the patch and everything should be all right.
