On December 20th, Logitech will be giving away 20,000 Logitech Cordless Navigator Duo Special Edition(mouse and keyboard).

All you have to do is go to www.logitechcordless.com between 12pm and 5pm EST on December 20th. If you see a prize claim form come up, you win. If you dont, keep refreshing and hopefully one will show up. This contest is only being promoted on the above site, so hopefully not too many people will know about it so you can win :)

Most likely though, the site will go down in about 15 seconds when 12pm EST hits and nobody will win :p

EDIT: The retail value of the prize is $79. I mainly just want the keyboard since there is a MX700 mouse coming my way in a few weeks.

Hey AK, I can see your Seaman :)

His name is Dignan :)

And keeping on topic-- where did you hear about this 'give away'? I'm just thinking that if it was kept quiet, 20,000 items gives you a pretty good chance of 'winning'.

Seems far too good to be true

I heard about it on a forum, but a very down low one. Ive been checking sites that have big listings of giveaways, contests and freebies and I dont see it on any yet. Today is only the 8th though, so theres still 12 days for it to travel all the way to Afghanistan.

20,000 is a lot though either way.

EDIT: Logitech must be rich, because 20,000 of those things equals about $1.6 Million retail value

tells you how inflated retail values are, doesnt it?

AK47

Sure does.

$79.99 for keyboard and mouse is rediculous.

Well they are Wireless. Roughly $40 each. That is a lot of money though.

lol, I won, took me about 30 secs. Only problem, I don't live in PA (which I entered as state). Anyone want one? :p

If anyone wants it (and lives in PA), I'll need this info.

You got 4,5 hours before the contest ends. :)

AK47
12-20-2002, 11:40 AM
why did you enter PA as a state?

Outlaw
12-20-2002, 11:43 AM
You can only enter the contest if live in America or Canada (which I don't), so it didn't really matter which one I picked. I just wanted to see if I would have won.

People are still trying and winning after two hours, so there's still a chance to win.

You should of put NJ in Outlaw :)

I did not win, but I believe Nfested did.

cripes, after I gave up, my friend and roomate kept trying... he ended up winning 3 of them.

Now we wait to see if this whole thing was bullshit or not. I wont be surprised if it is.

I won and it took me 5 min of clicking and then I tried winning again for Bobaroo to get one but after another 5 min I couldn't get anything. I won at around 1:45 Eastern and I don't know what time zone Logitech goes by.

redwench
12-21-2002, 10:38 AM
they said eastern, of course. only blizzard goes by pacific times

anyway, they obviously had set times for winners, otherwise all would have been gone in the first 15 minutes.

Well, anyone revieve their keyboard/mouse combo yet?

My roomate got his first of three the other day.

Umm... they dont work very well :D

His keyboard and mouse have just stopped working on numerous occasions. He's had to reinstall the drivers about 3 times already.

Both items run on 2 AA batteries. No charging station for the mouse or anything.

So, I'm not terribly looking forward to getting my kb/mouse in the mail. I'll use they keyboard (because I'm in need of one), but I have a feeling the mouse wont replace my current one.

It would be wise to buy some Rechargeable NiMH 1800mAh AA's for them and a charger. Those kind of batteries can be charged up to 1000x and hold a lot more charge than a regular AA battery.

This site has a ton of them, and they are cheap because they are OEM. They are great quality, Im about to order some after hearing good things about the website and the batteries. Use coupon code bydusa9981 and you can get 5% off an order.

http://www.bydusa.com/store.asp

As for the keyboard/mouse combo, Call 1-800-231-7717
press 1, then 2, then 2 and finally 1 to check on the status of the free Logitech combo by daytime phone number you put on the winning screen.

My Logitech gear includes:

Cordless Freedom Optical (KB/mouse combo): 4 & 2 batteries respectively.

Cordless Freedom 2.4GHz joystick: 3 batteries

MX700: 2 batteries, but Logitech got it right and designed it with it's very own charging cradle.

I use NiMH with all my wireless devices, along with a Rayovac 1-hour charger. I have to charge the mouse every couple weeks, and I use it daily. Keyboard doesn't have to be charged for a good 3-4 months, if not more. I've think I've only charged it twice since I got it a year ago. I've had the joystick for just over a month and haven't had to charge it yet. It only turns on when I'm actually using it, as indicated by the status LED. Otherwise, it just sits there looking cool. Heh.

I got mine a while ago. I only use the keyboard because I like my Intellimouse v3 better than whatever this cordless thing is. I like the firmer keys this KB has as opposed to the older Logitech I had. I haven't had any problems

AK47
02-03-2003, 07:26 PM
got my KB today.

I like it. keys feel nice and they're nice and quiet. Not using the mouse because I too enjoy my MS intellimouse.

Damn, nice keyboard for fee.

Good deal.
