What other software do you have running in the background? Are you running Internet Explorer 6 or the 5.x versions? Make sure you have downloaded the latest critical updates for your computer from here:

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

And keep us posted

What other software are you running right now?

try setting your security for the lowest settings and accepting all cookies. then hit only sites you know are safe. probably wont help, but give it a whirl.

no firewall software, antivirus or messaging software? okay then ...

What did you install recently, prior to that problem?

Anyway, try this: on IE6, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> and in the General tab, look for the Delete Cookies and Delete Files buttons .. click on each of em (check the "Delete all offline content" box).

Still won't work? Try this: Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/remove Programs, choose IE6, click on the Change/Remove button, and make sure choose Repair Internet Explorer ... see if it fixes the problem ...

If this is being a hassle to your browsing, we recommend you check out some browser alternatives until you've fixed the problem:

Mozilla 1.3.1 (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.3.1/mozilla-win32-1.3.1-installer.exe)
Netscape 7.02 (http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp)
Opera 7.x (http://www.opera.com)

you can remove ie and reinstall without reformatting. not for much longer apparently, but you can still do it. just make sure you have the setup files (and a backup browser as suggested above) downloaded before you trash it.
