DirectX 9 probs

Hey everyone,

I downloaded DirectX 9.0b and my computer is being very strange....

Websites scroll down jerkedly and flash a bit when first loading. Also the letters on websites when I type show up delayed, its happening right now.

Some DirectX games crash when loading such as BF1942 and America's Army, others dont.

I ran dxdiag and I get an error that says:
DxDiag has detected there may have been a problem accessing DirectInput the last time this program was used. Would you like to bypass DirectInput this time?

I click no and:
hmm...its not giving me the error lol...it was a Memory reference error
but it does say:
Problems were found in the system registry. Details are available in the saved text file.

Any ideas? All help GREATLY appreciated!

Under DirectInput the error says:
Registry: Errors found
Key 'HKCR\CLSID\{9F34AF20-6095-11D3-8FB2-00C04F8EC627}\InProcServer32' is missing.

personally, i would go back to a restore point prior to loading in direct x9 and reload it, assuming of course you have windows XP, might help, might not.

:) I experienced the same problem on on a new PC !

After trying really everything (for 2 days) I found out that the error was caused by configuring the PC with too many cables connected. What you can do, assuming you have Windows XP:
1) go back to a previous synchronisation point, where DirectX did work
(start; all programs; accessories; system tools; sysem restore)

if this does not work, then
2) redefine your computer, WITH ONLY KEYBOARD, MOUSE AND AUDIO CABLES ATTACHED. Do not attach cables for printers, videocamera, network etc.
This worked for me. It turned out that the problem with me was caused becaus I had a "1394"cable (used for connecting a video camera) connected, while setting up the PC.
