Damaged CD?

Whenever I am installing the Diablo II Expansion: Lord of Destruction, an "Insert Disc" window pop-ups telling me to insert the Expansion Disc even though my Expansion Disc is already inside the CD-ROM. What's wrong? Is it because my CD is damage? The CD has minor stratches, nothing major. Also, I have:

256MB PC-133 SDRAM
NVidia GeForce2 MX-400
Hitachi DVD/CD-ROM
Yamaha 24x10x40
ASUS A7V133 Motherboard
30 GB Hard Drive (6 GB remaining)
... and so on...

That's actually a fairly common error with a lot of CD drives. Something that fixes it for most people: Go to Blizzard's Diablo II patch site (http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mdt0387p) and download the latest patch BEFORE you attempt to install the game.

I patched the Diablo II with the [Orginal] 1.10 and I still get the same error before when installing the expansion. It stops more than half-way at a file named "d2xtalk.mpq". Anymore ideas?
