Everytime I am installing LOD, it tells me to put in the expansion disk when it is already in. It always stop when it's installing "d2exp.mpq". Diablo II classic installed normally and I don't think the expansion disk is scratched. Please help me. Thanks.

This kind of problem happens to me too, but instead of the file "d2exp.mpq" it is "d2xtalk.mpq". A person suggested to install the latest patch for the regular Diablo II before installing the expansion. Try doing that, even though it didn't work for me, probably it'll work for ya.

i know when installing LOD you gotta put D2 reg play disk in.. are you guyz running like dual CD-Roms with 1 having D2 play disk and LOD disk??? if so try doing it one CD at a time in only 1 of the 2 CD-roms... sometimes useing both like that can make the install no work right... if thats not it then i dunno

You can also try to manually copy the problematic file directly from the CD to the correct directory on your harddrive...

I have the latest patch, 1.10. I don't have a dual cd-erom, and I tried manually copying "d2exp.mpq" and pasting it into the directory but is still didn't work. Any more solutions? By the way, that link was to a different problem than mine. Thanks.

Listen everybody, i have experienced the same thing with this file, and yes, what a file, the problem here is not responsible the patch its only this file, is because is extremely vulnerable, and delicate, either the Cd-Rom is dirty or old, or the cdgame (most usual) as received a damage, maybe invisible to eyes, do what your friend says, copy the file manually to the HD, or if that doesnt work, use a tool for cloning Cds like the CDGhost or ALcohol, these usually rescue and restores the damaged files
