text is blurry

ok some guy i know was asking me about fuzzy text. he says that all the words below an icon are fuzzy, and any text that he brings up at all is fuzzy. he can look at a picture of anything.... the picture is clear. but anthing with text in it is fuzzy. sorry i dont know what kind of computer it is.....but has anyone ever heard of anything like that?

Could be he has a Cleartype feature on. Cleartype is when Windows anti-aliases (smoothes out the edges) of fonts. This is really helpful for people with LCDs since it makes text easier to read, but to some it just makes the text blurry.

To turn it off in XP (this might be the same for other versions, but I don't have any handy to check), right click the desktop, select properties, go to the Appearance tab, and click on the Effects button. From there he can either choose between Standard or Cleartype, or he can just turn it off completely
