As the past topic has no new posts for a while and no solution was told, I decided to create a new one... I have the exact same problem of all those guys, but I am posting a screenshot so you can see better...

http://www.pingueiro.kit.net/imagem.gif

This screenshot was taken on the World Editor, but in the game it's the same shit! I am getting very stressed about those vertical lines over the map and characters!!

Just before somebody says, I have an AMD Athlon Processor, TNT2 M64 32mb with driver 28.32 (as Blizzard recommends on it's site) and Directx 9b using Windows 98se . By the way, I had the 4.5 Video driver with Directx 9 and it was the same thing...

Please help me, I reported the problem to Blizzard but they sent me a ****ing "already written" response which says to update drivers, directx, and bullshit like that...

Thanks to all those who want to help!

if u can get to the game video options try to change it to a lower resolution and 16bit colour and on the audio menu try a more basic driver or sound option for the game
also what is the resolution on your desktop? u should play a bit with that too.
did u try some earlier drivers for the video card?
go to the windows display properties (or is it system properties?) and make sure that the full hardware acceleration option is set to full
windows 2003 server set this to almost no video accel by default and the games simply won't even start
good luck

first of all, thanks for helping (or trying to :))

the game resolution is already at 640x480x16 and I've also tested all the others resolutions and the 32-bit color too :(
the sound driver is the most basic already, cause I'm using a very old sound card (althoug it's directx compatible)

well, I've tried the following vieo card drivers:
2.08 (it's pretty old, but it's the best driver for my tnt2)
28.32 (which was tested by blizzard with my card)
45.something (which is the latest version)

so, the video driver should not be the problem...
I also tested Directx 9 and 9b (I wished to test 8.1 but there's no way to uninstall directx 9b)

hardware acceleration is also at full acceleration...

And I remember you all that this problem is ONLY with warcraft3 (and wc3 video test, duh)! All the other games run without any problem on my computer... :/

I'll be posting more screenshots shortly

This is a screen of the main menu, as you can see, the wc3 logo on the top-left corner also has vertical lines on it, so do the menu's leyout (that iron structure behind the buttons).

Here you can see vertical lines on the minimap on the right... Also there are about 2 dark lines over the screen at all.

The last one... This is the loading screen. I don't need to say anymore...

Please help me

thank you, I'll take a look!

But I don't believe a previous version of directx would solve my problem! I've tried everything you could imagine!
I'm about to buy a GF4 so I hope it will work fine! Althoug if it doesn't I will have spent half my month income for nothing :(

Well, if anyone can help with new ideas, they'll be welcome!
