I have an HP media center pc 873n and it is driving me insane! I am trying to copy some DVDs which have programs not copy protected, burned on someone elses computer, and which play beautifully on my TV/DVD system. On my computer, they play occasionally, and when I try to copy them with "Record Now", all but one stops close to the end of the "reading" step with an error message that I should check for scratches or dirt on the DVD. When I tried to copy the .vob files directly to my computer, once again I got an error message, this time "cyclic redundancy check" error. If these are playing perfectly in a TV/DVD machine, why am I have so much trouble with the computer????? I would so much appreciate hearing from someone who understands DVDs, which I obviously do not.
