Okay, I started installing GTA 3 onto my computer and about 9% into it restarted. No big deal, so I thought. I put the disk back in and tried to install again, but apparently some of the componets stayed on my hard drive so I was prompted to uninstall. The problem is I can't get it to uninstall. It goes to the uninstall screen and stays a 0%. I go to Add/remove prgrams and nothing happens. I'm lost. If you can give me some help it would be much appreciated. If not no big deal. I'll just be forced to smash the disk into thousands of pieces. YEA!

Thanks again for your time.
Aaron.

You could just delete the folder C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII and everything in it. You should be able to reinstall if its gone. Otherwise go back into control panel and it should tell you its not installed or something and take it off the remove programs list.

I tried that already. The entire rockstar folder has been deleted from my hard drive. I've tried everything that I can think of and nothing has worked.

Any other suggestions?

I just like the banana.

Well, if the folder is gone the only thing left I would think would be all the stuff installed into the registry. Go down to Start, then to Run. Type in regedit and it should open the Registry Editor. Now, nothing I tell you to delete should mess up your system. You can search for, then delete all the rockstar key entries. You might have this key too you might want to delete:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\DirectInput\GTA3.EXE3CCECE1400339BDB] It'll be called something like that.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\D:\gta3cdPC]

I would just try to delete any key related to GTA3. I had a game that actually had a similar problem to yours and I needed to delete some things in the registry to get it to work right before I reinstalled it.

Thanks for te advice. I'll give it a shot. Hopefully all goes well, if not...I'm just going to have to start breaking random parts of this infernal machine.
