After my computer sits idle for a while and I log back on, an unwanted website pops up. (even though the browser was not open when I stoped using the computer)
I'm running windows XP. I've deleted all cookies, tempory internet files and cleared history.
How do I make this stop?
Suggestions?

Have you checked for spyware on your system. You might have a hijacker.

You can download adaware 6.0 from download.com, but be careful that you don't delete any of the wrong things off your comptuer. I believe adaware allows you to make a backup before any changes are made.
Also, you should turn on the internet firewall thats built into XP. It will help prevent popups and whatnot.
