Alright, so here's the deal...I'm currently running on Windows XP, but I want to go back to Windows ME...but anyway, I am trying to reformat my computer because it is really slow and basically having a really hard time running.

I've tried to reformat, I've put the start-up disk in etc. but when I type format c: it says invalid file name or command, at least something along those lines...

Could anyone explain why I can't reformat, or at least tell me what I'm doing wrong, and how I might be able to format my computer! PLZ!

if youre formatting a drive that has xp on it, youll most likely need to use the xp or me disk to partition and format it. dos may not recognize the drive. going back to ME is not a good idea, but that should do it.

Agreed. Even though 98SE is still better than XP, IMO, ME was the worst one of all. I had nothing but problems with it before I decided to completely start over and go back to 98SE.

It's hard to believe I am still seeing that statement with the year 2004 just around the corner.:D

I miss nothing about the pre-xp era, such as having to reboot all the time, memory leaks, BSOD's, and all of the other things that come along with a Six Year Old OS. :p
