Could somebody please help me, when windows starts up i have a window that opens up automatically everytime i boot up, even when i close it down and restart, it keeps coming back.
This windows is my user folder in Documents and Settings:
C:\Documents and Settings\Kern
How do i stop this from happening? it is very annoying because i have to close it down all of the time. thank you.

Hmm.
Make sure there's no shortcuts to that folder in your Startup folder. You could also use msconfig/autoruns to browse and see if something is causing that to pop-up.
Maybe try a Adaware/Spybot scan and if you STILL have it popping up... maybe a Norton Virus Scan (http://security.symantec.com).
Good luck.
Btw -- Does this window come up even in Safe Mode?

This seems to be a problem with windows xp, i had that problem myself, the folder that mine brought up was my virus scanner
C:\Program Files\Common\McAFeeUpdate\
Something like that
That was on Version 6, all i did was turn off the auto update facility, otherwise the program ran and also opened it directry up, that was so annoying, i just manually updated it.
I have version 8 now, and i think it is wonderfull.
Also in windows 98 i had version 6 installed and it did not do that just in windows xp, thats why i thought it was a windows xp fault or glitch.

Hi,
Im no wizard but just in case..... have you tried - 'run' + typing 'msconfig' then selecting the startup tab and un-checking the item??
You may be laughing your cock off but ive had some really good advice from this site and equally as simple/obvious.....
