I am running a dual boot machine running windows 2000 and Red Hat Linux 9.0. Everything seemed to be fine until last month my comp crashed and I had to repair the installation using a win 2000 cd. Now everytime I try to update windows, it gives me an error message that says :
"The core windows file(kernel) used to start this computer is not a Microsoft Windows file. The service pack will not be installed"
I have tried everything to get this thing to work. Can anyone help?
The hardware spes are as follows
Processor: Dual PIII 1.26 GHz Tualatin
Memory: 1GB DDR RAM
OS Win 2000 Pro
Video card : ATI Radeon 1600
HDD Dual WD 80 GB IDE
