Quick Launch problem

Everytime I boot up my PC the Quick Launch bar as dissapeared altogether.I have the 'Show Quick Launch Bar ' enabled in the Taskbar settings in XP Pro.I have to right click just below the Start button to select Toolbars /Quick Launch and then it appears with large icons ,I then have to right click again and select 'View/Small icons.Is their any settings so this doesn't happen as it's a bit of a nuisance problem, for some reason my settings aren't being saved on exit.
