Diablo 2 cd read errors....

Ok, thanks for reading this, i have a general question that i have been asking many people...why cant my cd rom read the diablo2 playdisk after i install the newest patch??And how can i fix it to where it can read it...?

If you need more help than that, post back with your system specs and we can offer more help. Right now, we don't even know what OS or type of CD-ROM drive you have. :)

Thanks for trying to help me...
my comp has an 800 mhz duron processor, an iomega cd-rw drive,8x4x32, and 256 megs of ram,and i am operating in windows 2000, and i have a nvidia vanta video card...i am only getting the error if i install the 1.08 patch to diablo 2 or its expansion...so if you have a fix to this problem, or if you know a way to get around it, i would appreciate your help...thnx...;)

One thing I have discovered with Windows 2000 and inserting new CD's. Try this..

1. Open up my computer.
2. EJECT the CD tray and LEAVE it ejected.
3. Hit F5 to refresh while the tray is out.
4. Insert the CD.
5. After the CD light stops blinking, hit F5 one or 2 more times.

Seems like a pain but I have found that a lot of CD's don't get detected properly when you put them in the CD tray. I'm not sure if it's a VIA issue or a Windows 2000 issue but this seems to work for me. It's the only way I can switch DVD movies and have them play properly.

I have that too, but only if I disable auto insert notification in the cdrom properties
