BEST RPG on PCs???

im not really updated right now..so could anyone please recommend me some RPG games on PCs..thanks!! hop to hear from all of you soon...i am definitely a RPG addict when it comes to PCs!!

well it seems that the top rpgs rite now are:

1- Final Fantasy 11
2- Neverwinter Nights
3- Anarchy Online
4- AND rAGORNAK ONLINE

Of those ive played Final Fantasy 11 and Neverwinter Nights. Final Fantasy 11 is a MUST BUY. Neverwinter nights got boring to me. I dunno tho alot of ppl like neverwinter nights tho

it is, but it's not playable under normal circumstances, and there's no online service for it...

I wouldnt put FFXI on the list of best RPGs. Its not very good. Ragnarok either.

It has buggy multiplayer and crashes often ... it's online enabled because you can play it over the internet, but it's not subscription based (meaning you connect to someone else's IP address instead of a gaming service)...

For as much as I didn't like the game when it came out, right now, Neverwinter Nights is one of the better PC RPGs I've played in a while.

Impressions change, I guess.

Whats your definition of good?

I play both, and I like them, quite alot. They're by far the best, or at least most entertaining, MMO's I've played since AO.


EDIT: You may also want to look into Dark and Light. Its not out yet, but it looks pretty, and theres high hopes for it.

Neither one of them is in my definition for good, thats for sure. FFXI doesnt bring anything innovative to the table. It also has the worst user interface on any game Ive ever played. And Ragnarok, that game is a joke. I question how people find it even remotely entertaining.

I still think DAOC is the best MMO available. It has some aspects from the basic premise of an MMO, plus a lot of other things. Realm vs realm battles(which their making some good changes to soon) are its most unique aspect. Planetside is also quite good, but you have to like FPS games to enjoy that one.

Theres 2 upcoming games that hopefully will bring a lot to the MMORPG table - City of Heroes and The Matrix Online. WoW will probably be popular simply because its Warcraft and its Blizzard(similar reason for FFXI's 'sucess'), but if you look closely, its the same we have already seen.

well... has any one played dark age of camelot? how's that? what about its expansion packs? do you have to pay to play online?

'cause like a long time ago when i was still playing diablo 2, i heard others say this game is good... so i don't know...

Oh yeah and dont even bother with dungeon siege. It has one of the worst rplay values ive ever seen in a game.

there is a game on pc that is like a matrix online game. It has models that look like morpheus and agents and stuff. You can also bust out with matrix hand comabat. It is called "The Specialists". Though it is not an RPG it is very challenging and entertaining. I recomend this game to fps lovers, especially counter strike lovers.

Koreans seem to think different. Ragnarok is crazy go nuts there. The iRO server is catching up with the kRO server as well. Its just like any other MMORPG, except with 2d sprites and a 3d environment with an overhead view, and its done very well, especially the detail.

The content is there to back up the pretty environment as well.

Play the game again, before you insult it.

-Morrowind- most people I know hated this game, but I thought it was good, not one of the best
-Arcanum
-Baldur's Gate II
-Divine Divinity...not exactly a hardcore RPG, but it's a great game


Older RPG's- Some of these are really old, but were great in their time

-Fallout 2 is a must have
-Betrayal At Krondor
-Ultima VI
-Might and Magic: World of Xeen
-Ultima Underworld I and II
-Daggerfall
-Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven
-Ultima IX...this one was decent


well...that's all I could come up with. I haven't played many new RPG's, since a lot of them want online subscriptions...I hate pay to play (after the first installment of $40-50 to your local Best Buy, Circuit City, EB)

I'm addicted to CS and i play the specialist about every day in school cause thats what they like to play but i think it sucks. If i wanted to play unreal tournament i guess id play it

Try new rpg game. Knights of the Old Republic. Pretty cool game, based on Star Wars, you know, light sabers and so on.
Also try Morrowind, there are also 2 eexpansions for it.
