When installing Diablo 2 on a computer running Windows XP, I get a message saying "Unable to save uninstall data, installation aborted" So i tried to find the uninstall files and delete them, but i cant find them, what do i do?

do a search for d2 uninstall files. set search perameters accordingly. it should come up with something. if it doesnt, then do a run program d2uninstall.exe or something along those lines.

thanks for trying, the search won't come up with anything nor does the run program work

alright i know whats going on here, d2 cant save the uninstall files from the cd to the hd, thats why its aborting the installation.
try installing d2 on another machine if it works, then a file transfer isnt working properly.
see if you can get another copy of d2 and use that to install.

Also, if you're trying to install the game under a Limited user account, please log on as an Administrator and then try installing. Once the game is installed you can make it so the Limited account can play it, although I forget exactly how you do that (I don't have any experience with setting up Limited user accounts on an XP system).
