Okay... look for a file named "bnetlog.txt" in your Diablo II folder. Open it up and copy/paste its contents into your next post. I bet that the connection log will tell us what the problem is.
When was the last time you could connect to Battle.net with Diablo II? Can you connect to any of the gateways?

ok here is what it says:
1/10 17:47:33.159 Connecting to Battle.net...
1/10 17:47:33.229 querying gateway 127.0.0.1
1/10 17:47:33.259 searching for the fastest server
1/10 17:47:39.338 no servers found

I had that exact same problem a week ago and this is how i solved it;
Reset the Battle.net server list:
This step is not for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos or The Frozen Throne users.
Click on Start then Run.
Type regedit and click OK.
Click on the + icon beside the HKey_Local_Machine branch.
Click on the + icon beside the Software branch.
Select the Battle.net branch and press the delete key.
Click on the + icon beside the HKey_Current_User branch.
Click on the + icon beside the Software branch.
Select the Battle.net branch and press the delete key.
Now start the game and connect to Battle.net.
This was lifted directly from Blizzard's website. I'm guessing that when u try to connect to BNet its just showing a list of Servers like FPJS server or something like that intead of US East, US west and so on.
CAUTION- if u do decide to use the steps shown above BE VERY CAREFUL. If u delete something u shldnt well...
Anyway good luck, it worked for me so i guess it shld work for u. :D

The steps that Bunmiadefisayo posted are only part of the solution. To prevent your server list from getting modified again, you need to remove any and all "third-party programs" that you've downloaded for Diablo II. "Third-party programs" is just a "politically correct" term for hacks, cheats, cracks, bots, etc. Your server list was modified by something so that you're trying to connect to yourself (127.0.0.1 is an IP address that represents your machine), and no, it doesn't get modified randomly on its own. You downloaded something for Diablo II, and you need to get rid of it so this problem won't happen again.
