Computer:
Pentium III 450Mhz
Windows 2000 Professional
Service Pack 4
NVidia Geforce 3

All right, I know my computer is old..

One day I went to load up counterstrike and I got an error message that said that my video card does not support the selected OpenGL mode. I hadn't changed anything since the last time it worked. I rebooted into Windows 98 and everything worked fine. In Win2k I just updated my drivers and directx and it still won't work.

any suggestions?

I appreciate everything that you guys do here!

Well i had this problem once alrdy when i updated to xp i think you should go to the windows update site and download the NVIDIA fix which should allow you to play cs using openGL

im w/colloc on this one, update your video drivers, theyre probably just under the min requirements for cs.

I already updated all of my drivers, but I went ahead and did the windows update anyways. It didn't work. One thing I think I didn't mention was that counterstrike used to work fine. Then out of nowhere I got the error - I didn't change anything that I know of between the last time it worked and the first time I got the error. I have both cs1.5 and cs1.6 and they both give the same error. I know a new computer would fix the problem, but I already have another newer, better computer. I just want this comp to work too.

Press 'Start' and then 'Run''. Type in 'Dxdiag'; You can see there if OpenGL works. Maybe you should try getting a dx8 instead of 9.
