I was just wondering if anyone else has played this game. (PlaneScape Torment)
I just got it the other day it looked and looks cool, but when i played it for a few days I find it to be very boring. It is just like reading a book. Every person you talk to seems to have a whole lot to say and after i have played for awhile I am almost ready for a nap.
I was just curious to see if it is like this with anyone else or if it is just me.

Planescape Torment was a darn good game….mind you…it has an awesome story, I liked it, and would recommend it to anyone….especially when you can get it so cheap nowadays. Yep, it does have a long reading story line...might not be your cup of tea though. Chalk it up to personal preference. :)

Yea the story is cool that was one of the main reasons i decided to get it, and I think the game looks great too. Maybe I just have to start playing it in shorter spans. It seems if I play for any length of time I just start to get tired. That or maybe try going to bed ealier. hehe.

I liked it the first time I played it, there's only one thing I havent figured out yet, where the hell is the armor for the nameless one? he has an empty armor box but I only found armor for those other guys
the music was great too, especially when you're in a conversation with the girl (dont remember her name), the dead one from who you meet the ghost in the mortuary

they gave taht game a perfect name because torment is exactly what it is to play. i also have bg2 and im not too terribly impressed by that either. so far bg2 looks like planescape remake starting out no memmory none of ur gear and stuck in a jail with someone doing experiments lame lame lame. wonder if i can foist bg2 off on someone as a gag gift at xmas....

Heh Janna... that part is over with in 10 minutes, then you can start turning your chars in to mega-kililng-machines :)
BTW... torment was good... if you like reading books. Was too long though. I never did finish it cause it just wouldn't end.

and the ending sucked too, not the movie, that was cool, but the last part of the game was crap

After all these encouraging statements I really don't want to play the game that much any more. I think the story is a good idea and it looks good it is just not my type of game. To much reading not enough action for me. But to me after i start i feel like playing something else because it just seems to take forever to get something done.
I am looking forward to playing bg2 though. That sounds like fun and I liked the first one. Will be getting it sometime if the future.

it was like "did i install bg2 or planescape???!??!!!!" it was the same tired storyline from that torment game and all those dialog boxes are driving me nuts cant they do a story without the random meaningless chatter??

The key that you need is on the table in front of the golem. :)

its kinda irritating haveing to search the the screen for cursor hotspots especially when it isnt readilly obvious. i get really frustrated with that sort of thing. the graphics of bg2 do not lend themselves to actually seeing what is on a screen i cant tell a table from a chair it all looks the same :(

I think you can detect hotspots by hitting the TAB key .... only started using it in Throne of Bhaal, but I think it'll work in Shadows of Amn ...
btw, I'm in the last area of TOB ... this Melissan lady is one tough b*tch! Can't afford to die coz everytime someone dies, it gets replaced by a red Slayer creature (frickin tough) who also attacks me ... Can't summon much creatures coz everytime they die, the red Slayers appear ... jeezus...
