Hey I was just wondering what is the best way to go with an Assassin skill points wise. I have gone through the game and have only used a few skill points just for Burst of Speed, and what ever it take to get to it. (Can't remember)
I was thinking about going with Shadow Disciplines.
Any opinions would be nice.
Thanks

I"m making an assassin right now and here's the skills I"m choosing:
Tigerstrike: level20, +1440% damage (I think thats base damage or something cuz my damage doesnt really go up 1440%)
Claw mastery: level20, for extra damage & attack rating
Dragon claw: level20, for even more damage & attack rating (need 2 claws for this one)
and when I'm done with that I think I'm gonna get my shadow master higher.
right now I'm fighting with 2 claws, I got 1 point in the speed skill, 3 in the block skill (you need 2 claws for this one too) and thats about it
You can also go to the arreat summit (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo2exp/) and see what all the skills do at level 20 (click on the skills button at the left)

tiger strike is great, but i whouldn't put 20 into claw mastery, you'll get way more from the shadows becuse after 5 pts it goes up by like 1% each time. the traps are surpisinly usefull to...

my claw mastery goes up by 10% AR and 4% dmg each level :)

I'm gonna make my necro again...

With my first assassin, I ignored claw and shadow mastery and pumped all my skill points into traps. Nothing like laying traps and wiping out all the bad guys. Just run away, lay a few traps, lure them around em, and kill them all. If you try this, pump up your mana allocation.
Second character I tried was all shadow mastery. I like the lvl 30 shadow. Put a few skill points in this one and you have a very valuable partner with 600 Hp or more. Interestingly, she can use all the skills, even the ones you don't have.
Both are good. I can't be bothered with the micromanagement that claw skills demand so I stay away from them.
