Well, after about two months, I've finally bought hosting for my website, KeithMcD.com.
I've got forums running right now (I'm using phpBB 2.0.6) and am working on building a site.
My forums have about 18 skins and you can choose from over 1000 avatars.
Feel free to register and post your thoughts about the site either here in this thread or on my forums.

Lastly, does anyone know why a site would screw up totally without the "www."? My site is accessible from just "http://keithmcd.com", but none of the links will work without the "www.". Oh well.

Opinion:
Too many forums for an upstart board.
Try hiding or removing some of them. Example, you have 5 gaming forums, when no one talks about gaming on your board, at least not yet. Try making one forum for everything game related until you get a larger user base, then gradually phase in the forums for specific consoles once enough topics are made for that console.
Don't take my word for it, though, especially since my site has been "Under Construction" for 4-5 years (Laziness).

Done. I just made the excessive gaming forums visible only to moderators and me so I don't have to recreate them later.
Thanks for the advice. This is my first time with forums.

Nice, may I suggest a few phpbb hacks that you can add in?
I would suggest nuttzy's mod installer as a first nifty add-on, it works well to install mods, and then the cageregory hirchy mod, which works very well with v2.0.6, and the FAQ admin mod is also another good one. Both which install with the mod installer flawlessly.

I do have the mod installer and the faq mod installed already. I just wish I would have known about the mod installer when I first was starting, i've wasted a lot of time.
I'll have to get the category one though. Thanks and thanks for registering.

np man, Yeah I know what you mean about installing the mods with out the mod installer.... its a pain in the arse...Which I dont mind doing it for the small mods....but when your doing something like the cat mod....that way to many files that I want to take time to edit. ;)
Good luck with your site.

Just an update to let you all know that my site has already undergone an overhaul. It was screwed up from day one, so I started over from scratch on my forums. However, it's really paid off because it's a LOT better now.
I've got the categories heirarchy mod installed, a couple of admin mods, a calendar that's really pretty cool, and (great for registered users) a mod that allows a TON of customization to your profile. It might just have even more options that this site - wow!
Anyway, if you registered (for the two of you that did), you'll have to re-register as I had to remove the database and I didn't back it up first since I knew that there would be major changes after the databses were re-added.
Thanks,
Keith

each forum's title is blended in w/ the grey back ground, if you can make them white or something so they are easier to read
