Deus Ex 2 low quality sound

A friend of mine just gave me DX2, as hes done with it. But Im having the same sound problem as in the demo. The sound is low quality and has static in it. I never saw a fix for it in the demo. Ive patched the game and it still has it. Is there any kind of fix out there for it?

What soundcard do you have? I experience no problems with the sound in the game either on my soundblaster live at work, or my nforce2 sound at home.

SB Live 5.1.

Ill try and record the static sound and post an mp3 of it. I know other people had this problem in the demo too, as I saw posts about it on various forums, but there never was a fix.
