16 colors on newly installed win 2k

Listing all modes in VGA reveals on 16 colors on an upgrade from win 98 to 2k. How do I achieve 256 color, or High color, or True color?

You'll need to update your video card drivers. Most likely the drivers windows 98 was using are not going to work with 2k. Try getting the latest drivers for your video card then installing them. It sounds like 2k reverted to a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" which is compatible with all video cards since the 98 drivers wouldn't work. :)
