Determining internal modem type

Installing Win 2k on a computer that previously had win 98, resulted in the internal modem not being recognized. Short of disconnecting and reconnecting the modem; how do I determine its type and get it activated?

You will probably have to get the manufacturer and model no. off of the modem and download a 2K driver for it.
