spell checker with otlook express

have windows X/P and use Outlook express for mail. it had worked before but now the spell checker will not work. I do have Office 97 installed but it has been there all along. Any suggestions. I am a bad speller so I need it. What I do is type the message in Word and spell check it there. Sure would like to be able to use the spell checker in O.L.

When you say it won't work, are you getting an error messege or is it simply not opening up?

Windows express is done by Windows itself and not from Office. You may want to go to http://www.windowsupdate.com and try that update. Normally they have ones for express even.

Side note: I think the express update is under recommended updates and not critical. To be honest I never payed much attention to the recommended ones.

All you really have to do is go to microsoft.com and install outlook express over it will re-write over the old one and fix any errors it had sometimes programs use the same files and they get changed.
