Howdy,
Yesterday, I broke down and bought GTAIII and since then, I've had major issues with the game not wanting to work right.
I've got a P4 (1.8 GhZ), 512 MB of RAM, a GeForce FX 5200 with 128 MB of on-card RAM+ an additional 64 from main memory if needed and intregrated audio on a XP Home system.
The erros are either crashes due to an unhandled exception or the game flashes and sometimes stops with "Error on reading GTAIII DVD" (or something similar). I even installed the 1.1 patch hoping that it would fix the problems and it hasn't.
I'm about to uninstall it and take it back to Wal-Mart.
Before I do, though, I've got two CD drives in the machine, and one is a DVD-ROM, but, far slower than the other CD-R drive. WOuld it be better to re-install using the other drive or is there a way I can tell the game to switch drives without bothering the install?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
