Anyone else 'dying' to play this and/or get into Beta?

If you don't know what WoW is, god help you.

Not particularly. Warcraft strikes me as lame.

Other than Warcraft II and Tides of Darkness, I agree with you. After WC1 I was surprised 2 even came out, but 2 was a major hit. I still play it. I bought 3, and played it for about a week, then put it up on a shelf somewhere. I was just bored with it. I may check out WoW if a friend buys it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to like it. I'm waiting for Beyond Divinity.

I'm not a big fan of Warcraft, however I am a big MMORPG fan and they have TONS of lore that they can work with so this might turn out ok. If I don't get to participate in beta though, there will probably be little chance that I will get it myself. IMO, I'm gonna have to place this in the "Try before you buy" category.

Is WoW free over the internet?? Cause MMORPG's these days make you pay monthly... and if it isnt free, can u play offline?? like single player

It costs money to play, how much, I don't know. But assuming it follows suite with the current batch of MMORPG's, then you can expect anywhere from 9-15$ a month.

And no, there won't be a single player, and if there is, I doubt it will be much fun at all. Thats why its called an Massive Multiplayer ONLINE Role Playing Game.
