A model number would help. We don't know any of the specs.

That said, what are the specs and is it a large emachines case? I've had problems with cases being too small to fit newer larger video cards.

Type that model number into a search engine, and you should come up with something. Also, just so ya know, when asking about your pc or video card, sound card, etc, it should be posted in the hardware forum, not PC gaming. ;)

It should but I don't recommend that card. It'll lag out in every new game.

How much money do you want to spend? The 9600XT is about 150 and the 9600 tabs in at under 100.

right now, the best value/performance is for the 9800pro. might be a bit steep for you at around $200, but it will take care of your needs nicely for quite a while, regardless of what games you play. 9600 pro or xt are good for budget cards. definitely avoid any card with the SE designation.

the geforce fx line is, unfortuanately, overpriced for performance at the current time.

I disagree i think the 9700/9700Pro is where the value performance is at right now. Because you have every major thing the 9800 has such as 256-bit, and 8x1 pipelines. they come in at 185 and 190. Retail.

I sprang the 20 bucks too but some people are less fortunate than I am. Now my bank account is crippled. But either or you wont go bad.
