Windows wont shut down or restart through start menu or manually shut down by switch. I tried to do a restore but it seems to fail during reboot.
I tried to reboot with printer unplugged and this didnt help.
All progs seem to work fine. No viruses detected.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

for manual shutdown, youve tried pressing the power button and immediately releasing, as well as holding it for about 5 seconds?

that was just to determine if it was a physical problem, or software.
did this suddenly start? if so, what did you do within a couple days prior?

you have a choice of causes: a corrupt file or youve managed to disable the shutdown in the bios or OS. assuming no one else fiddles with your computer, if you havent made any changes of that nature, its time for a repair installation. back up stuff first.
