aol 9.0 and windows xp

when i log on to aol, i have 9.0 with a dsl/ethernet connection, the welcome screen and buddy list come up as normal. When I click a link, or go to any website and open a window, if I scroll in the window, the entire screen disappears and leaves only my aol desktop background visible. Is there a problem with the browser or with the pc.

I would suggest going to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and downloading all the updates and service packs it says you need. There are any number of things that could cause this problem, but most likely it's an unupdated driver, or a missing patch or service pack.
