When you used your router's DMZ, what IP address did you put in and where did you get it from? We need to make sure that you're putting in the correct IP address.

If you're sure that you put in the correct IP address and hosting still doesn't work, then that means that one or more other firewalls are preventing people from connecting to you when you host a game.

You should still be able to host even though your ISP changed your WAN IP address. Most likely something else on your end has changed that's causing the problem but you aren't aware of it.

I see...

I've seen that problem many times before, but I don't recall seeing any definite solutions. My guess is that it's a software conflict or a low memory issue. If you're using Windows 98, Me or XP follow the steps on this page to do a selective startup, which will ensure that all non-essential running background programs are closed:

If you're using Windows XP, after you click Selective Startup, click the Services tab and check the box for DNS Client service. If you don't, you won't be able to connect to Battle.net. Also, if your computer has to be configured for DHCP, make sure you check the box for the DHCP client service as well. While you're doing this, host behind the router so you are protected by the router's firewall.

done all that but seem to still be getting same poblem just to refresh after i run that program i go to genral and then make sure load startup items does not have a tick in box this means its disabled?

as for the rest they dhcp and dns r running is this correct?

btw i use xp and i do sometimes get the message of virtaul memory running low if i uninstall some other games will this fix it?

Yes, when you run msconfig and do a selective startup, make sure that the "Load startup items" box is NOT checked. Yes, if you do a selective startup, make sure that under Services the DNS Client and DHCP Client boxes are checked (I'm assuming that your router is configured for DHCP). Once you've done all that, click OK, restart your computer and try hosting again.

If you're getting a message that says that your virtual memory is low, that means that your page file is too small or your page file is a decent size but it's getting filled up quickly. How much RAM do you have installed? A Windows XP system should have AT LEAST 256 MB of RAM; if you're going to play games like Warcraft III, go for 512 MB or more. Uninstalling other programs will only help if they were always running in the background when they were installed and/or if your free hard drive space is really low (I always aim for at least 10% of my total disk space free for best performance).

all the above i have done and still getting same problem. And my comp says that i have 198mb ram but i do have a 256 chip but realy does that matter as i play the game in all other aspects without a problem at all so i don't see how that will change anything.

Where does your computer say that you have 198 MB of RAM? It's not possible to have that amount. Did you mean to say 192 MB? Are you sure that you have 256 MB and not 192 MB? If you went to your system properties and it said 192 MB there, most likely that's how much you really have; I don't know of any causes of Windows XP reporting an incorrect amount of memory.

If you really do have 192 MB of RAM, that's not enough to run XP and Warcraft III at the same time - you need to upgrade. Even if you have 256 MB, you could still benefit greatly from an upgrade. I understand that the game runs fine in all other aspects, but your comment about you receiving an error about low virtual memory tells me that your system has a problem that needs to be fixed, namely too little physical memory installed. If you've closed all non-essential running background programs and services and you're still having this issue with Warcraft III, personally I think it's most likely due to a lack of free memory. I don't think it's an issue with your connection, I think it's an issue with your system.
