help unhandled exceoption error

evry time i turn on diablo 2 when it just about to start the cinematic part and the beginning it goes black and i get the unhandled thing error message ad its really annoying and i went to blizzard.com support but that just said get rid of all backround programs but i got rid of them and it stilll does it can someone help get rid of it so i can play.
oh and i dont know much and havent tried much apart from reinstall got 3d nvidia direct x 9.0 and thats it so please help and if u have msn and know how to get rid of it make me a contact cus it will be a lot easier thanks.

Try this:

Find your favorite Diablo II shortcut, right-click on it and click Properties. In the Target box, one space after the ending quotation mark, put in -skiptobnet. Here's an example of what the new target would look like:

"C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -skiptobnet

Click OK to save your changes, then try the game again.
