ok well my consol for counter-strike doesnt work and i need help with it and i need some one to help with it this is my target C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\cstrike.exe -console now what do i need to do??

It should work fine.

Did you maybe accidentally reassign the key to activating console? (If that's possible?)

You're running the retail version of CS?

ok all i tried and it is still not working the console button is not being used yet my consol still wont come up so any more i deas?? o and bom i put that on the target thanx but it still isnt working

-dev -console

If that doesn't work you can also try this:

-dev -console -game cstrike

dude hes having more trouble with it then i was hehe. i guess ill have to drag my self over to help him with it mwahahaha. even though his computer illiterate sister could have figured it out by now :p

lol, Bomb, those are all codes for hl.exe, he has cstrike.exe, which I'd assume means he has retail, so none of those command lines are going to work I don't think, and Fink don't ask me, I don't know anything about retail CS except for that everyone has problems with it - should have just downloaded it anyway - lol

ok last night i reinstalled cs and i did the -console -game cstrike for my target and now it works very good thanks for all the help and ill try not to have to ask for more help with my cs:D

The-Fink, although I don't think you should risk anything when things are working fine... I don't think that the two extra strings, "-console" and "-game cstrike" has any use at all. I think your reinstall fixed it, not the added string to your target line.

ok u know how i have the retail version of cs and i coulda downloaded it well can you download retail version of tfc or is there 1??:confused:

OK to clarify...

Counter-Strike is a mod for the game, Half-Life. It is completely free and downloadable from the 'Net. But since it runs on Half-Life, you need to buy the Half-Life game first.

They decided that they could cheat some people off their money by creating a standalone version of Counter-Strike and sell it for the same price as Half-Life.

So you've got...
Option 1 - Buy Half-Life, get CS for free... 2 games for 20 bucks.
Option 2 - Buy Counter-Strike... 1 game for 20 bucks.

TFC is exactly the same case, except they never made a standalone version for it.
