Follow these steps to configure your Linksys router for hosting:

a. Type http://192.168.1.1 into your web browser's address bar.
b. Put in the username and password; I think the default is no username and the word "admin" (without the quotes) for the password.
c. Once you're in the settings, click the Applications/Gaming link that you see on the router's home page. If you don't see an Applications/Gaming link, look for an Advanced link. If you see that, click it and then click the Port Forwarding link.
d. In the first row of boxes, put the following:

Application - (whatever you want to call it, i.e. "Warcraft III")
Start - 6112
End - 6112
Protocol - TCP
IP address - the last three numbers of your computer's IP address. To find out what those numbers are, follow these steps:

- Click Start
- Click Run
- Type cmd (Windows 2000 and XP) or command (Windows 95, 98 and Me) in the Run box, then click OK
- When the black box comes up, type ipconfig and hit Enter. The computer's IP address will be listed.

Back to the router settings - make sure the Enable box is checked, then save the settings. Try hosting a Warcraft III game again.

Umm... port forwarding is set up the same way for all Linksys routers. If you see Setup/Advanced/Forwarding, follow the rest of the steps that I posted. The steps I gave you will help you, you just need to actually do them.

yytellmey, for each computer that wants to host a game, simply change the port that Warcraft III uses in its Game Options and then forward that port to the computer that is using it.

But Linksys router can add 10 only. Meaning 10 PCs can online and host game at the same time. Are there anyway to add more??? how about port triggering??? U know how to set it to solve my problem???

yyellmey -

I wasn't sure if you really meant 40 PCs in your original post, but keep in mind that Battle.net supports only up to four connections from a single ISP-assigned IP address. If you have a router connected to a cable or DSL line and you want more than 4 PCs to host behind it, it won't work unless you get another IP address from your ISP and then put four more computers behind a separate router.

I've never gotten port triggering to work with my Linksys router, but if you do get it to work and if Battle.net supported 40 connections from a single ISP-assigned IP address, yes, port triggering would do the job; simply use a port triggering range that covers the 40 different ports that the PCs will be using.

hey its me again smoe, my power went out while my comp was on last night. And i woke up this morning and decided to play some wc3. I can host now thanks to smith, but today i couldnt. I think it may have something to do with the power thing, cause I have been able to host for over a month now. I looked at my router options and everything is the same as before, can u help me? smith u rockin!

I'm sure that the problem is this: when you powered your computer back on and made a new connection to the router, the router assigned you an IP address that you're not forwarding port 6112 TCP to. Run ipconfig and check to see if the IP address in there is the same one as the one in the port forwarding settings. If it isn't, change the one in the port forwarding settings, save those settings and try hosting again.

Hi, I have never been able to host games on WarIII and I know it is because of my firewall. A person on warcraft sent me to this website, i was excited and thought i would be able to fix it easily, but i am computer-illiterate. You said type some numbers into the web address bar, is that where you type in normal website address?

The person also told me that something was supposed to pop up when i visited the website that would enable me to type in no username, admin for PW, but nothing popped up, so i turned popup blocker off and tried again, but still same thing, and it doesnt say it blocked any popups.

Hi, I have never been able to host games on WarIII and I know it is because of my firewall

What is the name of your firewall?

You said type some numbers into the web address bar, is that where you type in normal website address?

If you are behind a router, yes, type its IP address into that bar, the place where you type a normal website address. If you're not behind a router, then it won't do anything.

Hey all. Well, I have this same exact problem. I've read everything, and I've tried everything. Here is what I have.

I'm trying to host WCIII:Frozen Throne game on b.net. I have a "Network Everywhere: Linksys Router"

I've tried opening ports 6112-6119... and port 27960 because that's what it says to do on the networkeverywhere site. I tried to make my PC the DMZ Host, but that doesn't seem to work either. I'm totally lost. And I can't host games... please... if anyone can help... I'll be MORE than thankful!!!
