Downloading updates for half-life games error

i just got half life and all its games for a birthday present :)
theres this thing in start/programs/sierra/c-s/update counter strike

i click on start upgrading, but when it veriifies my internet connect it says somethings wrong... with my internet...

what do i do?? help?!?!

Ps. anyone know where to get those bots for cs?

You can probably get the patch (or patches) at the game's site and install them that way.

I don't pay for an account there and download stuff all the time, subscriptions are all that cost money. Free membership is available and you have to wait in cue to download. Paid accounts=no cue (and other benefits).

Don't know about the bots, but I bet they have 'em at Fileplanet.

If you aren't sure which patch to get, I think it is this one you probably want:

# Half-Life 1.1.1.0 Client (Full Client) (82 MB) - This will upgrade ANY VERSION of Half-Life to the latest version. If you're not sure what version you have, download and install this patch and you're set.

well... i upgraded my half life to version 1110 and my cs to 1005 and i got steam and put everything on ''my game list'' and upgrade all of them with steam, also kept on asking there support thingy to help me fix my automated upgrade thingy ....i still dont have the right version of cs... GRRRRR... stupid annoy complicated games with like 2000 versions of everything

You have the latest patch for HL (without Steam 1.1.1.0) and then the latest patch for the mod/retail version of CS (without Steam 1.0.0.5). You can play CS 1.5 online, but that isn't the latest version. To play the latest version online you'll have to use Steam.

With Steam it'll auto upgrade to 1.6. That was one of the key "features" of Steam. I don't see what problems you are having.

Does anyone know where to get good bots?? I had pod bot 2.5 once... but i lost it, anyone know where to get it?
