LOD error - plz help

I had to reformat my harddrive and reinstall my OS the other day and now I get the following error as soon as I enter or create a game on B.net:


Halt
Location: D2CMP\SRC\CODEC.CPP, Line# 1639
Expression: Error decompressing sprite - possible corruption in datafile: BAS2litSCth


I've reinstalled D2 LOD many times over the years and have never had an issue like this. Any suggestions? ideas?

If you're getting an "Error Decompressing Sprite" error message, go here for some possible solutions:

Is your play disc/expansion disc dirty or damaged? This error can come up as a result of a failed attempt at reading a file off the disc or in the case of the file being on the hard drive, the file is corrupt due to it being copied from a dirty/damaged disc.
