I recently bought the Command and Conquer collection, and upon playing Red Alert 2, I love the music. Is there any way I can find that music and make it into a .mp3, .wav. ogg, etc?

I looked through the CD, and there isn't anything that looks related to music.

Thanks for your time, and hopefully, posts.

Same goes for the installed files on the hard drive. No music there. I believe it reads off teh CD, as when I change the track, the CD spins up.

Sorry for not including that.

You can extract the music with XCC Mixer (http://xccu.sourceforge.net/), it's somewhere on that page. I think they're .aud files, so you're gonna need something to convert them. I remember using winamp to convert the songs, but I don't remember if I had to download a .aud plugin to open them. I guess you'll find out soon enough.

Or I guess I could send you the songs if you have a decent internet connection...

Thanks.

I have Quintessential player...could that convert it?

I also have the worst dial-up connection ever, so that probably wouldn't work.

Never heard of that program. You'll have to find out yourself if it can convert them.

It's a really good media player, Quin is. It's free, and supports many file forms, .ogg included. It also rips and converts music.

Grab it at some point.

I think I'll stick to winamp. :)

Sure, if you have msn or icq and a few hours. It's 560 mb and I can only upload at 32kb/s.

17920 seconds....298 2/3 minutes....4.97 hours...

OUCH...

Good luck with that. I guess I'll have to get them myself somehow...

Hmm!

Does it matter how long it takes? When you have broadband you just leave the computer on until it's done. ;)

You must realize I'm still living in dial-up worlds.

Unfortunately, I live in the slums of this place.

Ugh.

I know how much Broadband rules..

I'm using my school's internet connection right now, and it's so mch better than my dial-up. What's worse, we have bad phone lines at my house so the dial-up is even worse. I usually get about 1.5 kbps...tops.

How much does that suck?

A lot.

Oh well, I'll have to live for now on dial-up. I can't wait till I go to college with highspeed internet. I may never go back.
