ok, im not sure how to config my router. its a linksys router. when i go to 192.168.1.1 and advanced, there is filtered private ip range and filtered private port range. is this where you put in your own comp ip and 6112-6112? i am pretty sure i am under the winxp built in firewall. i put my ip in the private ip range and 6112-6112 into private port range, and when i apply that i cant connect to battle.net. help? what am i doing wrong?

Okay... the problem is that you're not in the right place. You're in the place where you can block outbound ports, and by putting in your IP address and 6112-6112 in those settings, you're making it so your computer can't connect to Battle.net on port 6112.
Go to the main router settings page and look for an Applications/Gaming link. If you don't see that, click Advanced and then click Forwarding. Follow these steps:
Follow these steps to configure your Linksys router for hosting:
In the first row of boxes, put the following:
Application - (whatever you want to call it, i.e. "Warcraft III")
Start - 6112
End - 6112
Protocol - TCP
IP address - the last three numbers of your computer's IP address. To find out what those numbers are, follow these steps:
- Click Start
- Click Run
- Type cmd (Windows 2000 and XP) or command (Windows 95, 98 and Me) in the Run box, then click OK
- When the black box comes up, type ipconfig and hit Enter. The computer's IP address will be listed.
Back to the router settings - make sure the Enable box is checked, then save the settings. Try hosting a Warcraft III game again.
