xp not booting up.

hi, please help! have a toshiba satellite 2450-201 laptop that will not boot up into xp. it refuses to boot from the cd drive also even after changing the booting sequence. this has occured since i tried to restore from february2004 because of a media player problem (no sound, but drivers installed and no fault on device manager!) thing i did notice is that there was a problem with the ethernet setup before i tried the restore. (tried two different xp cd's)

if going into the bios and disabling everything but the minimum doesnt work, id suggest taking it to a service center, where they can test your components.
