notebook restarts everytime i connect to the internet

within the last week and a half, my notebook has been giving me nt authority system message and restarts after 60 seconds when i connect to the internet. it also shows a message about lsass not found. i have also noticed that when i close the lid of my notebook, that it wont start back up, so i have to take out the battery and kill the power to start it up again.

That's for the sasser.d variant, but it should work for whatever you've got. The worm only attacks computers that don't have a specific windows update, so make sure that you apply updates frequently.

followed the steps exactly how it shows, and i couldnt find anything. my nav 2004 only detects one adware that it wont delete and adaware adn spybot s&d cant find either. i cant stay online long enough to download my updates either. help please!

1. Go to a friends house.

2. Get the removal tool from here. (http://sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sasser.removal.tool.html)

3. Put both files needed onto a floppy.

4. Go home and boot to SAFE MODE.

5. Run the removal and Robert's your Mother's brother.

ok, it worked as far as staying conneted to the internet and restarting with error messages, but i still cant startup up my notebook after i close the lid while it is still running. i open the lid and push my button, but nothing happens so i still have to kill the power to start it up. this may have nothing to do with the virus huh?
