sound driver problems

Running xp home, have recently done recovery on pc and installed all the microsoft updates and relative driver files. However, one driver still eludes installation - it is my nvidia sound driver. When I try and install from the disk, gets halfway through and stops. When I try and install update from microsoft update website it just fails the installation. When I try and upload each driver individually through device manager, it finds the relevant driver file on the disk and tries to install it then claims that access is denied. Please someone help this is driving me mad. My xp account is set as administrator, I dont know what is stopping me accessing files.

Some AntiVirus programs like Nortos AntiVirus can cause problems when loading programs, files, if you have antivirus program doing scan disable it and try again, if that helped, do remember to activate the antivirus program again.
