It is my understanding that because a Virus protection program is so focused on viruses, that it is therefore not as good at detecting trojans and worms. Anyone know of a good, free trojan protection program that I can download?

Here is a an anti-trojan program that is free (free version at the bottom of the page):

http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

However it has no real-time protection unless you use the paid version. The free version seems to scan very thoroughly.

Create an account so they can email the activation code which will be needed late in the install/update process.

I use BOClean which is not a scanner and is not free and there is not a trial version, just a money back guarantee.

www.trojanscan.com is an online scanner. you really dont need constant protection from a trojan if you use normal security precautions, such as a firewall and AV, along with updated windows. youd pretty much have to deliberately install one, and even then the firewall should block it.

I'm the paranoid type. I like to have BOClean running:
