I dunno what it is, but it certainly uses up 99 percent of my resources when nothing else is. Eh, guess we gotta live with it.

System Idle Process - You cannot end this process from Task Manager.
This process is a single thread running on each processor, which has the sole task of accounting for processor time when the system isn't processing other threads. In Task Manager, expect this process to account for the majority of processor time.
This is a w2k definition from Microsoft Support. SIP is present on my WinME system.
It doesn't mean it is using a lot of processor time when it shows a high percentage, that is how idle your system is.

There are absolutely no side effects of the System Idle Process accounting for your CPU time, and there is no reason to try to reduce the percentage next to the process' name. Just to assure you that you don't have to worry about the System Idle Process, my system is as solid as a rock and when I'm not doing anything the process accounts for 99% of my CPU time. All my games work fine, Windows works fine, no problems whatsoever.

Its actually SUPPOSED to happen, but yeah keep on sending us your questions about stuff that doesn't make sense and we'll try to feild them. That's how I learned, I just asked away.
